Prophet Mugadza charged to court over President Mugabe's death prophecy


Prophet Patrick Mugadza of Remnant Pentecostal Church in Kariba has been charged to court over President Mugabe's death prophecy.

The Zimbabwean preacher was on Monday arrested for creating nuisance by giving a prophecy that President Mugabe wasn't going to live to see the end of 2017.

Police in Plateau intercepts two trucks conveying 145 Almajiri children to Kaduna and Nassarawa States


Police in Plateau State intercepted about 145 almajiri children in Jos while being conveyed in two trucks to Kaduna and Nasarawa States. 

The children mostly between the ages of four and eight, including three teenagers, three Malams and two drivers were intercepted last Thursday night by men of sector 2 attached to Operation Safe Haven stationed opposite University of Jos.

Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have arrested an importer of electronics on his way to Hong Kong for ingesting cocaine.
Another suspect who lives in Athens, Greece was also apprehended in connection with unlawful possession of wraps of substances that tested positive for cocaine. The arrests were made at the Murtalla Mohammed International Airport (MMIA) Lagos during screening of passengers on an Ethiopian Airline flight to Hong Kong and Egypt Airline flight to Athens.

Preliminary investigation suggests that the suspects had targeted the Christmas holiday to smuggle cocaine out of the country but drug law enforcement officials at the Lagos airport were able to uncover their plan. The total weight of cocaine seized from the suspects is 1.150kgs.

Gambia’s First lady, Zineb Jammeh, has expressed firm love and support and love for her husband, President Jammeh.  In an interview with the Daily Observer, the first lady described President Yahya Jammeh as a very devoted leader who is able to ensure peace and stability in a country.
"It is never perfect, but it is very important to acknowledge the positive. It is important to say what is negative but never forget to acknowledge what is positive as well," she stated.

After weeks of silence, President Muhammadu Buhari has given instructions for decisive measures aimed at bringing an end to the recurring acts of violence and destruction in the Southern part of Kaduna State. The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) had earlier condemned the President's silence "over the ongoing genocide in Kaduna'.

Indonesian authorities nabbed a Nigerian man, Tanzanian woman and shot dead another man from Nigeria who were reportedly members of a Malaysian-based drug ring as they tried to smuggle marijuana and crystal methamphetamine into Indonesia, an official said on Friday, January 6.

Pensioners in Imo State, led by the state Chairman, Chief Gideon Ezeji, took to the streets Thursday and blocked both Okigwe road and the entrance to Government House Owerri as they protested the non-payment of their pension.

According to Ezeji; “As at December 2016, the state is owing Imo pensioners between 22 months and 77 months arrears. Our gratuities have remained unpaid since 1998 till date.”

Hopeless and hungry mothers in Lake Chad resort to prostitution to feed their children - Red Cross


Due to the insurgency by Boko Haram terrorists that have driven millions from their communities, women in Lake Chad are forced into prostitution to survive, The International Committee of the Red Coss (ICRC) said on Thursday.

The violence has displaced more than 2.4 million people across the swamplands of Lake Chad, where the borders of Chad, Cameroon, Niger and Nigeria meet, and disrupted the livelihoods of hundreds of thousands of others, ICRC says. Up to a million people have been cut off from humanitarian aid by Boko Haram despite a regional military offensive against the Islamist militants, according to the United Nations.

Husband beats and stabs his wife in her private part after accusing her of cheating


A man named Victor Ojiaku has been arrested by the Nigerian police for allegedly beating his wife mercilessly and then stabbing her in her private part with a broken bottle after accusing her of sleeping with sleeping with a teenage boy who works for him.

Ojiaku, an automobile parts dealer, attacked his wife, Faith Ojiaku, 27, a mother of three at their home in White Sand, Isheri-Osun in Lagos State last week.
